June 2008-CarpatBike and Bate Saua support bike to work campaign for Petrom company

CarpatBike has recently supported the project intiated by the Association" Bate Saua sa priceapa Iapa" and Petrom company, that promotes ecological transportation in the city and bike usage when going to work. The aim is to generate a major change in citzens' urban behaviour and promote the bicycle as an alternative and ecological means of transportation. Its implementation at Petrom will serve as a case study and could be implemented in other companies as well. Thus, representatives of the Association proposed the installation of bicycle racks in all Petrom offices from Bucharest and Ploiesti cities. The project continued with the organization of a special event with the occasion of the World Environment Day, where mass media representatives and Petrom employees took part in a contest on bike. We are happy to have supported such an ecological initiative for the biggest company in Romania.

Partnership for cycling development in Romania

“CarpatBike is joining the educational campaign “Velorution” for the development of urban cycling in daily transport. Initiated by the Association ” Bate Saua sa priceapa Iapa”, the revolution on two wheels promotes the benefits of bike usage in daily transport and has as main target Bucharest citizens. The aim is to generate a major change in citzens’ urban behaviour and promote the bicycle as a social benefit and value. Its implementation in Bucharest will serve as a case study and could be implemented in the rest of the country as well. It will include a radio and press campaign, outdoor and print media, interviews and documentaries for radio and TV as well as additional communication via blogs and online groups.
