OVERVIEW

The sparsely-populated forests, hills and mountains of Buzau are perfect for sport and adventure activities such as off-road tours, mountain biking. The ideal conditions for all those who are interested in going outside, taking photos, admire a unique natural phenomenon or doing some sports.
The Berca Muddy Volcanoes are a geological and botanical reservation located in the Berca commune in the Buzău county from Romania. Its most spectacular feature is the mud volcanoes , small volcano-shaped structures typically a few meters high caused by the eruption of mud and natural gases.

DAY BY DAY ITINERARY
One day tour

Meeting point: Muddy Vulcanoes - Buzau area ( 140 km from Bucharest/ 2 hours driving)
Start time: 11:00 am
End time: 17:00 pm
How to reach the Muddy Vulcanoes:
By car: From Bucharest you drive to Buzau. From Buzau city you take the national road DN 10, drive 17 km until you reach the village of Satuc where we take right towards Berca. After crossing a concrete bridge over the Buzau river the road divides again. This time you turn left and again right after only after a couple of metres following a panel towards Chiliile (leaving behind the road that leads to Ratesti Monastery). You then make 10 kilometers until the next crossroad where you take right and where the board shows 5,5 kilometers to muddy volcanoes.
