There are a lot of possibilities of reaching Romania. Therefore we invite you to check below the possibilities that might be suitable for you. You may always ask our help and we will be happy to support you in this matter.

Regular flights:

Malev Airlines flies from almost any country to Budapest and flies between Budapest and Bucharest.
Tarom, Romanian air transport airline, has daily flights between Amsterdam, Brussels, Frankfurt, Geneva, London, Paris, Rome, Munich, Vienna, Zurich, and Bucharest as well as with many other international destinations.
Austrian Airlines - the preferred airline to Romania from North America - offers daily connections to Bucharest, Timisoara, Cluj, Sibiu and Iasi from several cities in the USA and Canada.
Delta Airlines - is the only airline that offers offers non-stop service from North America to Romania. New York (JFK) to Bucharest in less than nine hours. For Europe, Bucharest is no more than 2-3 hours by plane from most cities in Western Europe.

Blue Air offers flights between Brussels Zaventem, Paris, Lyon, Koln, Madrid, Barcelona, Torino, Lisabona,Malaga, Istanbul,Verona,Valencia, Torino, Milano, Bologna, Roma, Istanbul and Bucharest, Cluj Napoca, Arad and Bacau.
Carpatair offers flights between Paris, Frankfurt, Dusseldorf, Munchen, Stuttgart, Verona, Turin, Milano, Roma, Bologna, Florence, Ancona and Cluj Napoca, Sibiu, Oradea, Bacau, Suceava and Timisoara. It is also flying between Budapest and Cluj Napoca.
Wizz Air offers flights between London, Paris, Barcelona, Brussels, Frankfurt, Barcelona, Eindhoven, Stockholm, Gothenburg and Budapest and offers connecting flight Budapest - Tirgu Mures. It also operated flights between Bucharest and London, Budapest, Dortmund,Roma.
Sky-Europe offers flights between Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Paris, Milan, Barcelona, Roma, Naples, Venice and Budapeste as well as from Bucharest to Vienna and Roma.
• German Wings offers flights between Bonn, Stuttgart and Budapest and Bonn - Bucharest.
Easyjet offers flights between Bucharest and London, Madrid and Milan and between many other European destinations.

By car:

Border crossing between Romania and its western neighbors is just a formality. When renting a car in Europe please check with the car rental company about its policy regarding taking the car across national borders. Insurance can be purchased at any Romanian border crossing point. Documents required by Romanian Customs are the vehicle's registration, proof of insurance and a valid driver's license from the driver's home country.
There are many bus routes that connect Bucharest and Romania's main cities with Athens, Berlin, Budapest, Copenhagen, Frankfurt, Istanbul, London, Milan, Munich, Paris, Rome, and Vienna.


By train:
Traveling by train from other European countries to Romania takes from 6 hours (Budapest to Timisoara) to about 46 hours (London to Bucharest). Most train tickets allow several stopovers en route so train travel can be an affordable and relaxing way to include Romania in a European trip.
Romanian National Railways (SNCFR) operate service from Bucharest to many European cities. First and second-class sleepers are available for journeys longer than 10 hours and for overnight trains.

Customs issues

Visa:
EU citizens (apart from the Irish and British) as well as those from Canada, Japan and Switzerland are allowed to stay, visa free, for up to 90 days. Americans, British and Irish can only stay for up to 30 days without visa. Australians, New Zealanders and Israelis can buy a 30 days visa at any of the border points. Citizens of most other Eastern European countries (apart from Albania, Serbia and Montenegro) can stay without a visa for 30 days. Turkish citizens can stay visa-free for 60 days.
All others should look for a visa with the Romanian embassy of their country.

Romanian Customs regulations are in line with those of most European countries. A traveler can enter and leave Romania with up to $10,000 in cash or traveler's checks. Amounts over $10,000 have to be declared at Customs.

Import allowances:
# Tobacco: 200 cigarettes (one carton) or 40 cigars
# Liquor: 4 litres of wine or 2 litres of liquor
# 20 rolls of camera film
# A reasonable quantity of gifts
# Medicines for own use

Customs officers do not usually check the luggage of individual travelers or tour groups. However, you must know that, as in any other country, custom officers have the authority to check passports and to conduct enforcement examinations without a warrant, ranging from a single luggage examination to a personal search.
