Perfect weather all year long and a great cycling location. The sparsely-populated forests, hills and mountains of Buzau are perfect for sport and adventure activities such as off-road tours, mountain biking. The ideal conditions for all those who are interested in going outside, taking photos, admire a unique natural phenomenon or doing some sports.
The Berca Muddy Volcanoes are a geological and botanical reservation located in the Berca commune in Buz?u County. Its most spectacular feature is the mud volcanoes, small volcano-shaped structures typically a few meters high caused by the eruption of mud and natural gases.
This tour is manageable for participants of various ages and would be a fun tour for a family (minimum age 10 recommended) or first-time bike tourists. A professional guide assists you with technical problems and will give you information about the area, as well as bringing you in contact with the local people.

Day by day
Upon arrival we will begin our short adventure with a visit to the muddy volcanoes followed by a cycling trip in the hilly area of Beciu. We will spend the evening near the muddy volcanoes, in a small hotel.
Dinner and overnight in Beciu area.
After breakfast we will leave the hotel for a cycling trip in the area. Depending on the wish of the group, we have various options for cycling. One option is to visit Magura sculpture camp and follow a 70 km hilly route. Children and non-performing cyclists can stay in the area for shorter cycling experiences in the nearby villages.
Back in Beciu village for farewell and return to Bucharest in the evening.

More information
Meeting and departure:
On arrival, the participants will be informed on the programme and other necessary information, they will be familiarised with the local customs and will receive the travel kit (map, equipment, bike and so on). Our guides will make sure that the participants fulfil all terms and conditions.
In case one or more participants did not reach the meeting date and point as scheduled, it is the responsibility of the participant to reach the group during the trip, according to CarpatBike terms and conditions. They will receive the support of our team in finding the group as soon as possible.
Due to the long distance for the first day and the organisational matters, the first day will not include cycling or it will only include short local rides, a visit in the city and local sights.
Terrain:
This tour includes national, local, village, and forest roads through pastoral landscapes and peaceful scenery. The terrain includes hilly routes, unpaved country trails, and rolling hills and is suitable for cyclists in good physical condition.
Lodging:
We have prepared for you a small cosy 3* hotel near the Muddy Volcanoes reserve, with half board included.
Bike info
GT, Cannondale or Trek XC bicycles are available on this tour, and are included in the tour price.

Pedals/seats:

Helmets:
While a helmet can be provided, we recommend that for safety and hygiene reasons you bring your own or plan to purchase one upon arrival. Please consider also bringing your own water recipient.
